I came across some interesting photo essays on WIRED’s site today, see below:
Classic Computer Manuals and Plans from Apple and IBM here.
A Photo Essay of Classic Instruction Manuals here.
A History of Microsoft Windows here. It is interesting how much in the early days Windows shadowed Apple’s OS and now Windows is shadowing Linux.

I stumbled across this earlier today while walking to brunch. Little did I know this box was the only place to purchase this magazine in NYC, and the whole East Coast.
From the Sneeze website:
STREET BOX PROGRAM
The goal is to create a
destination for the reader by
having one box per city in a
select location — like a
flagship store.
More info on Sneeze can be found here with a preview of the first issue here.
The magazine can be also purchased on line here.

Static vs. Dynamic

37signals did a great job at articulating the reasons for not using Photoshop for web page mockups. Why show something that is dynamic in such a static form? Read the full post here.
Also, I recently came across an interesting article on 37signals in Wired. It was very inspirational to hear about a design and software team stripping things down to their essential elements as well as having a very refined work flow. Read the article here.
